Media Arts & Technology Academy

Welcome to the Media, Arts & Technology Academy (M.A.T.)!

M. A. T. students like to explore the creative process through photography, illustration, video, audio, computer/digital arts, and interactive media. Students want to explore these forms of communication to create works that express their feelings and ideas. No art skills are required, just a desire to explore and create.

The academy has a dedicated green room for film production, and students put on an annual film festival known affectionately as The Matties.

Our mission is to provide a supportive learning environment that fosters creative and academic risk taking. Students learn the fundamentals of aesthetic design and apply the elements of space, time, light, motion, color, and sound to communicate their perspectives, feelings, and ideas. Students also learn to interpret and to evaluate media within cultural and historical contexts to become more enlightened and effective citizens.
