About Us

Walter Reed Middle School is a traditional Los Angeles Unified School District public school.  It is part of Region North and the North Hollywood Valley Village Community of Schools.  Our school has an enrollment of approximately 1475 students in grades six, seven, and eight from diverse backgrounds across Los Angeles. Walter Reed is a 2023 CA Exemplary Arts Education Program School, a Common Sense school for 2022-2024, and was a 2022 California Pivotal Practice Award recipient. Our Principal, Robyn Friedman, was also recognized by the California Association of School Administrators, Region 16, as Principal of the Year - Middle School for 2021-2022.

Mission Statement

Walter Reed Middle School's mission is for its community of parents and staff to work together to make the students responsible citizens. This is exemplified by student involvement in their multi-cultural community and their ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts.
