Welcome to the Medical & Environmental Science Academy (MESA)!

 Our academy focuses first and foremost on our students!

● We strive to teach our students how the health of the environment affects
human wellness and how quality medical care can improve the health of
the environment and all living things.
 
● We want our students to be leaders and innovators in the world of
tomorrow and we believe that starts with protecting our environment and
improving health care and access around the world!

Enrichments & More:
 
The Academy puts on an annual Earth Day event for the school, and students also participate in service-learning projects such as Reed Beautification Day, Campus Clean Up Day, and more. Past field trips have included the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve, Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens, the Los Angeles Arboretum; the Japanese Garden and Water Reclamation Plant; Long Beach Floating Lab; the Nature Bridge outdoor science program, and Petersen Automotive Museum. 
 
All enrichments are open to students from all academies. 
 
Field trips, and service learning vary annually, but we are committed to ensuring our students have opportunities to engage in these kinds of hands-on learning experiences.
