Enrollment Pathways Information

School of Residence Enrollment pathway means your child lives within the Reed MS enrollment area. Confirm Reed MS is your school of residence. School of Residence students can access both general and SAS courses via this pathway. 
 
School of Advanced Studies(SAS) Permit pathway is for students that are identified as gifted, meet the criteria for SAS eligibility and do not live within the Reed MS enrollment area.  SAS is our honors level studies. School of Advanced Studies(SAS) Permit pathway requires an application to be submitted through LAUSD Unified Enrollment (CHOICES).
 
The Individualized Honors Program also known as IHP is the oldest, continuous program for Highly Gifted Students in LAUSD, which was founded in 1970. This Smaller Learning Community (SLC) is designed for the unique needs of Highly Gifted students and offers challenges not generally offered in an honors level middle school course. The Individualized Honors Program Application pathway requires an application to be submitted through LAUSD Unified Enrollment (CHOICES). 
 
The Intra District permit request pathway is for students that do not live within Walter Reed middle school enrollment area but do live within LAUSD boundaries and will be accessing general studies at Reed MS.
 
The Inter District permit request pathway is for students that do not live within Walter Reed middle school enrollment area and live outside of LAUSD boundaries and will be accessing either general studies or school of advanced studies (SAS) at Reed MS.
